| BC Leaders protest near kalojee Statue at nakalagutta |
In a recent development, BC community leaders from across Telangana state have voiced their anger and disapproval of TPCC President Revanth Reddy's derogatory comments targeting former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah during the party's ticket allotment process.
BC leaders, including Bura Vidyasagar Goud, Munnurukapu Sangham Erstwhile Warangal President Katakamm Pentaiah, Secretary Sridhar Perukari, Coordinator Ravikumar Kanukuntla, Advocate Praveen Bonagani Yadgiri Goud, and others, staged a protest near Poet Kalojee's statue at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda to express their discontent.
The BC leaders demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy for his remarks that have shamed Ponnala Lakshmaiah, a senior leader who has been elected multiple times as an MLA and has served in various ministerial positions.
Furthermore, BC leaders criticized the political parties for not prioritizing BCs in the allocation of party tickets. They emphasized that political parties should consider the fact that BCs constitute 55 to 60 percent of the population when allotting tickets and called for tickets to be distributed based on population ratios.
The BC leaders also called for nationwide surveys on BC population similar to the recent one conducted in Bihar. They emphasized the need for all political parties, including the Congress party, to change their approach and show greater consideration for BCs, STs, and SCs.
BC leaders warned that if the Congress party's high command does not take serious action against Revanth Reddy, it could lead to BCs withdrawing support from the party in upcoming assembly elections.
