Narasimha Rao, popularly known as PV, hailed from Vangara in Karimnagar district of Telangana, and he holds the distinction of being India’s first and only Telugu Prime Minister. Additionally, he was the first Prime Minister outside the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty to complete a full five-year term.
PV, who served as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and as a Central minister, was recognized as a scholar, statesman, polyglot, and author. His political career included various cabinet posts under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, notably serving as the Foreign Minister from 1980 to 1984.
