Amidst a vibrant display of patriotism, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), celebrated the 75th Republic Day with grandeur and fervor. The event, hosted at the KITSW campus, showcased the institute's commitment to honoring the nation's heritage and fostering a sense of pride among its students and staff.
The Republic Day festivities commenced with a remarkable march past by 108 Men and Women NCC cadets from KITSW, symbolizing discipline and unity. Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, the Principal of KITSW, expressed his pride in witnessing the dedication and enthusiasm of the cadets during the celebrations.
The official flag hoisting ceremony took place at 8:00 am in front of the Administrative Block, where Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, as the flag-bearer, led the homage to the national flag.
Prominent figures gracing the occasion included former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and KITSW Additional Secretary, former MLA, Husnabad Assembly Constituency, Vodithala Sateesh Kumar. They extended their heartfelt congratulations to the faculty, staff, and the dynamic team of students for organizing the impressive celebration of the 75th Republic Day.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy highlighted the need for utilizing the latest innovations, incubation, and research facilities at KITSW. He emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and soldiers in shaping the Indian constitution. Prof. Reddy urged students to maintain unity and equality, fostering a sense of patriotism and dedication to the nation.
In his motivating speech, Prof. Reddy shared insights into the institute's transformation from dependent to independent learning through a hybrid mode of teaching. He proudly announced that over 300 final-year B.Tech students secured placements for the academic year 2023-24, a testament to the institute's commitment to producing industry-ready engineers.
Prof. Reddy underscored the management's efforts in providing cutting-edge research facilities, including a center of excellence, composite material lab, artificial heart lab, NI LabVIEW Academy, and Robotic Process Automation. The institute's focus on disruptive technologies, such as 3D printing, has led to collaborative efforts between students and faculty, aligning with KITSW's mission of creating technologically superior and ethically strong professionals.
The principal concluded by highlighting the institute's contribution to society through DST-sponsored projects, especially benefiting farmers. He expressed gratitude to the honorable management members, students, faculty, staff, and their families.
The celebrations also featured cultural performances by 120 students from the Student Activity Center (SAC), adding an artistic and festive touch to the event. The presence of various dignitaries, including Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, and heads of departments, further enriched the occasion. A total of 400 teaching and non-
teaching staff, along with 320 students, participated in the celebration, making it a memorable and collective expression of national pride at KITSW.
