BC Commission conducts virtual meeting with District Collectors

The BC Commission today held a virtual meeting with all the District Collectors in the State and issued instructions regarding its visits to districts for conducting Public Hearings. Earlier, the Commission has issued a Notification on 17.10.2024 for conducting Public Hearings to hear the representations, suggestions and objections in the matter of determining BC reservations in Local Body elections. The Public Hearings are slated to be held from 28.10.2024 to 13.11.2024 at the erstwhile (10) district headquarters at different dates. The Commission has instructed all the District Collectors to give wide publicity about the hearings and make necessary arrangements for its smooth and purposeful conduct. The Commission has enquired about the availability and suitability of the venues. Further, the Commission requested the Collectors to form different teams like Help Desk, Registrations Desk, Secretarial Desk etc., to conduct the hearings in an organised manner. BC Commission Chairman Sri. G. Niranjan, Members Sri. Rapolu Jayaprakash, Sri. Tirumalagiri Surender, Smt. Bala Laxmi Rangu, Member Secretary Smt B. Bala Maya Devi, IAS and other officials participated in the meeting.
