Chief Minister Gives Special Attention to Medaram Development: Minister Sitakka

State Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Women and Child Welfare, Dhanasari Anasuya Sitakka, said that efforts are being made to promote the glory of forest deities and preserve tribal culture and traditions through the renovation of Medaram temple premises.


Addressing the media at a meeting held at Medaram Haritha Hotel in SS Tadwai Mandal on Friday, the Minister said the Telangana government is making arrangements to conduct the Medaram Jatara with an allocation of ₹251 crore.
She stated that a master plan for temple renovation was prepared after consultations with tribal elders, priests, and Adivasi organisations. The works are being carried out with the consent of all stakeholders.
The Minister said that millions of devotees attend the biennial Medaram Jatara and permanent development works are being undertaken. The Chief Minister will inaugurate the renovation of the gaddelu on January 19 morning and will arrive at Medaram on January 18 evening.
District Collector Divakar T.S. said the district administration is fully prepared for the Jatara. At present, 5,000 personnel are on duty and around 30,000 staff will be deployed during the Jatara. The area has been divided into 8 zones and 42 sectors.
District Superintendent of Police Ramnath Kekkan said top priority is being given to the safety of devotees. Check posts are being set up to regulate traffic, and surveillance is being carried out using CCTV cameras and drones. Artificial Intelligence is being used to monitor crowd density.
