State Archaeology Director Inspects Ramalingeswara Temple in Jakaram


Mulugu, October 17:
Telangana State Archaeology Department Director, Prof. Arjuna Rao Kootadi, visited the state-protected monument, Sri Ramalingeswara Temple, located in Jakaram village of Mulugu district on Friday.
During his visit, Prof. Arjuna Rao inspected the condition of the ancient temple and reviewed its ongoing maintenance works. He interacted with the department staff and gathered details about the development activities carried out at the site.
The Director instructed officials to install signboards and information panels describing the temple’s history to help devotees and tourists better understand its cultural significance.

He also directed that the whitewash applied on the temple walls be chemically removed to restore the visibility of the original sculptures and carvings.
Prof. Arjuna Rao said that if necessary, a financial proposal for the temple’s further development would be prepared and submitted to the Central and State Governments for approval.
Deputy Directors Dr. P. Nagaraju, N. Narsingh Nayak, Director’s PA Sai Kiran, along with local villagers, accompanied the Director during the inspection.
