Telangana IAS Officers’ Association demands apology, withdrawal of NTV broadcast; warns of legal action
Hyderabad, 09 January 2026 — The Telangana IAS Officers’ Association today strongly condemned a recent NTV broadcast that it said made false and unverified allegations against serving women IAS officers.
In a press note, the Association said the broadcast relied on claims of “family discomfort,” alleged phone calls and WhatsApp chats that are fabricated and defamatory. It said airing such material without proper authentication or adherence to journalistic norms amounted to character assassination and harassment of women officers who are performing their duties.
The Association added that the report also falsely suggested that women officers had been given “comfort postings,” a claim the Association said misrepresents administrative procedures and undermines the credibility of the civil services. It warned that the broadcast reflected a regressive and misogynistic narrative and violated the privacy, dignity and professional reputation of serving officers.
The press note called on NTV and other media outlets to withdraw the content from all platforms and issue an immediate and unconditional public apology. The Association said it was exploring all available legal remedies, including civil and criminal action, to hold those responsible accountable. It also urged media organisations to follow ethical standards and avoid sensationalism and rumour.
Issued by the Secretary, IAS Officers’ Association.
