Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Addresses Massive Public Meeting in Makthal; Promises Comprehensive Development of Palamuru
Makthal, Telangana:
In a massive public gathering held at Makthal, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude to the people of Palamuru for electing 12 MLAs from the district and blessing him wholeheartedly, enabling him to stand before them today as the second Chief Minister of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy stated that the people of Palamuru have once again demonstrated their straightforwardness and integrity. “If Palamuru loves, it gives its life; if deceived, it pushes to the depths,” he remarked, referring to the political dynamics of the region.
Taking a strong dig at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Revanth said that despite Palamuru standing by KCR even when he had no village to claim as his own, he did not allocate even ₹12 crore to repair the historic Sangam Banda in his decade-long rule. He further criticised the previous government for neglecting key Palamuru irrigation projects and failing to even think of completing the Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that upon assuming office, the Congress government initiated steps to complete all pending Palamuru projects. However, legal cases filed by various parties stalled the works for nearly 18 months. To ensure no farmer suffers losses, the government paid ₹20 lakh per acre and successfully acquired land from 96% of farmers, he said. With land acquisition now completed, works on the Narayanpet–Kodangal project are set to resume.
Declaring himself as a “son of Palamuru,” the Chief Minister assured that completing the region’s irrigation projects and providing water for cultivation is his personal responsibility.
Focus on Education and Youth Development
Revanth Reddy announced that the government is giving top priority to education so that every poor child receives quality learning opportunities. As part of this initiative, Young India Integrated Schools are being established in every constituency. Specifically for Palamuru district, 14 such schools are being built, along with a new IIT campus to strengthen higher education opportunities.
Welfare and Economic Initiatives
The Chief Minister listed several welfare measures already implemented:
• Free travel for women in RTC buses
• 200 units of free power for households
• Fine rice distribution through ration cards
• Farm loan waiver, enabling farmers to become debt-free
• ₹1.04 lakh crore spent on the agriculture sector within two years
• Programs to boost women’s economic empowerment
• Completion of caste census and SC categorisation for equitable welfare
He also criticised KCR for leaving behind a massive debt of ₹8 lakh crore, stating that his government is working hard to repay it while simultaneously driving development.
Telangana Rising Global Summit
Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Rising Global Summit will be held on December 8 and 9, aimed at putting Telangana on a global platform and showcasing its potential. He reiterated the government’s ambitious economic targets:
• $1 trillion economy by 2034
• $3 trillion economy by 2047
Call to Voters for Panchayat Elections
With local body elections nearing, the Chief Minister urged the people to elect candidates committed to development rather than those who hold back progress. “Choose good leaders as sarpanches. I take the responsibility of providing funds and water for your villages,” he assured.
Concluding his speech, he appealed to the people to join hands with the government to transform Palamuru into a land of golden harvests within the next decade.
