District Collector Diwakar T.S. urges people to stay alert.
Heavy rains in the upper catchment areas have caused the Godavari River to swell dangerously. In view of the rising water levels, a second danger warning has been issued at Ramannagudem in Mulugu district, District Collector Diwakar T.S. announced on Wednesday.
At 11 a.m., the water level at Ramannagudem reached 15.83 meters, prompting the administration to issue the warning.
The Collector said that precautionary alerts have already been sent to villages along the Godavari, and urged residents to immediately inform officials in case of any emergency.
So far, 75 families from Venkatapuram, Wajedu, Kannayigudem, Govindaraopet, and Eturnagaram mandals have been shifted to 8 relief camps, where all necessary facilities have been arranged.
The administration has kept NDRF and SDRF teams on standby, while police, revenue, panchayat raj, health and other departments are working in coordination to prevent any untoward incidents.
