"Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science Warangal Hosts IEEE-Sponsored Workshop on Research Excellence Through 'Knowledge at Your Fingertips'"

 

In a bid to empower students with cutting-edge research tools, the Central Library at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITSW) in Warangal organized a "One Day Workshop on Knowledge at Your Fingertips: Mastering IEEE Xplore for Research Excellence." The event, sponsored by IEEE and EBSCO Information Services India Ltd. New Delhi, was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Telangana and Karnataka States IEEE Training Manager, M. S. Srinivasa, along with the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. K. Venumadhav, at the Central Library on the KITS Warangal campus.

Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy expressed the importance of the workshop for the benefit of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students, highlighting the significance of mastering IEEE Xplore for research excellence.

During the workshop, Chief Guest M. S. Srinivasa shed light on the upgraded version of IEEE Xplore, emphasizing key aspects such as finding relevant information for literature and systematic reviews, basic and advanced search strategies, accessing required content information easily, discovering popular and latest information for scholarly work, introduction of the author digital toolbox for aspiring researchers, publication recommender for new authors, and author profile account creation. Srinivasa also urged researchers and faculty to make the most of the central library facilities provided by the institute.

In a live demonstration, Srinivasa showcased remote access for e-resources, aiming to benefit learners and instill an innovative, incubation, and entrepreneurship culture. He encouraged the audience to actively engage in designing society-needed projects.

Dr. K. Indrasena Reddy, the Librarian, highlighted the institute's commitment to providing state-of-the-art library facilities, including a digital library, reputable online national and international journals, a vast collection of books, and subscriptions to AICTE mandatory journals.

The workshop saw the participation of key figures such as Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. K. Venumadhav, Library Advisory Committee Chairwoman Prof. M. Srilatha and members, Head of the Department of Physical Sciences Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary,  M. Niranjan (Assistant Librarian), Incharge H.O.D of CSE Dept Dr. S. Venkatramulu, faculty Abdul Moeed Syeed, along with all the Deans, HODs, faculty, library staff, and students. The event proved to be a valuable platform for fostering collaboration and enhancing research capabilities within the academic community at KITSW.
