Hanamkonda,January15, 2024: In a momentous achievement, Akuthota Harichandana, a talented tenth-grade student of Sujatha Vidyanikethan English Medium School in Hanamkonda district of Hasanparthy mandal, has been selected for the esteemed Veer Gatha 3.0 Gallantry National Level Award. The award, instituted under the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021, aims to showcase acts of bravery and the life stories of Gallantry Awardees, inspiring a sense of patriotism and civic consciousness among students.
Project Veer Gatha, an integral part of this initiative, provides a platform for school students to undertake creative projects based on the stories of gallantry award winners. These projects can be presented through various media, including art, poems, essays, and multimedia. The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education recognize and award the best projects at the national level.

Akuthota Harichandana secured her place among the national winners for her captivating painting titled "Rani Lakshmibai Came into My Dream. She Wanted Me to Serve Our Nation." The painting illustrates a powerful message, showcasing commitment to the values of bravery and service to the nation.
The Ministry of Defence will felicitate the national-level winners, and each recipient, including Harichandana, will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The joint recognition will take place during the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, where the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education will honor these exemplary students.
A staggering 37 lakh students from 2 lakh 43 thousand schools across the nation participated in various events, including essay writing and painting competitions, as part of the Veer Gatha initiative. This reflects the widespread enthusiasm and commitment of students to engage with and celebrate the stories of gallantry award winners.
Harichandana's achievement was lauded by Hanamkonda District Education Officer Abdul Hi, District Veer Gatha Nodal Officer Srinivasa Swamy, and School Principal Akuthota Shantaram Karuna, along with Vice Principal Guduru Lakshmi Narayana, who conveyed their heartfelt congratulations. The entire school community is eagerly looking forward to witnessing Harichandana's recognition on the national stage during the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
