In a remarkable display of solidarity and social responsibility, the Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), in collaboration with various esteemed organizations, orchestrated a Mega Blood Donation Camp at their campus auditorium on February 7th, 2024.


The event, organized by the NSS Club and Student Activity Centre (SAC), witnessed an overwhelming response from the student body, faculty, and staff of KITS Warangal, as they rallied together to donate blood for a noble cause. This initiative, conducted in remembrance of the late Sri B. Vishwa Teja, a final year student and Joint Secretary of the Humanity Club under SAC, garnered immense support and participation.


A staggering sum of over 400 units of blood was collected during the camp, which was subsequently donated to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Hanumakonda, in association with the Lions Club Warangal. The efforts were commended by Dr. P. Vijayachander Reddy, Chairman of IRCS, who lauded KITS Warangal for not only excelling in technological advancements but also for their unwavering commitment to social welfare.


Among the dignitaries present were Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, former Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of KITSW, along with P. Narayana Reddy, Treasurer of KITSW, and Vodithala Sateesh Kumar, former MLA of Husnabad constituency and Additional Secretary of KITSW. They extended their congratulations and appreciation to the SAC student executive team for their exemplary contribution towards the noble cause.

Dr. P. Vijayachander Reddy, in his address as the chief guest, emphasized the profound impact of blood donation in saving lives, highlighting the altruistic nature of such acts. He underscored the significance of KITS Warangal's role as a beacon of societal welfare, not only fostering technological innovation but also actively engaging in life-saving endeavors.



Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy reiterated the importance of donating blood as a means of safeguarding lives, emphasizing the students' dedication to social service and their embodiment of social responsibility.


The event witnessed a massive turnout, with active participation from various stakeholders including NSS coordinators, Lions Club officials, faculty members, and student representatives. The collective effort of over 500 students from KITSW showcased a resounding commitment to humanitarian causes, reflecting the institution's ethos of service and compassion.


As the curtains drew on the Mega Blood Donation Camp, the resounding message of "Donate Blood and Save Lives" echoed through the campus, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and solidarity within the KITS Warangal community.
