BHEL and Telangana Energy Officials Discuss Progress on Power Projects

Hyderabad, 26 July 2024:K. Sadashiv Murthy, Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL, along with Director of Power Tajinder Gupta and ED/PSSR, met with D. Ronald Rose, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Energy Department, and CMD of TGGENCO & TGTRANSCO, to discuss the progress of various TGGENCO power projects. The meeting took place at Vidyut Soudha in Hyderabad on 26 July 2024.

The officials reviewed the ongoing work at the BTPS plant and the construction of Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems at both BTPS and KTPS-VII Stage. They agreed to complete the projects according to the committed schedules. Ronald Rose emphasized the need for BHEL to deploy sufficient labor at all TGGENCO project sites.

During the review of the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) projects, it was stressed that measures must be taken to ensure the commissioning of two units of Stage-I by October 2024 and three units of Stage-II by March 2025. K.S. Murthy assured that BHEL would meet these deadlines and provide the necessary support to handle any operational emergencies, minimizing downtime for TGGENCO units.

Ronald Rose also inquired about new technologies in the thermal power sector, such as Advanced Ultra Super Critical Technology and Coal Gasification.

The meeting was also attended by TGGENCO directors Sachidanandam, Ajay, and Laxmaiah.
