*KITS WARANGAL (12) STUDENTS SELECTED FOR GLOBAL NOMINEE FOR THE NASA INTERNATIONAL SPACE APP CHALLENGE - 2024*


KITS Warangal  Engineering Students have presented their groundbreaking technical solutions to the CEO of T-Works, Joginder Tanikella at T-Works, Hyderabad, Govt. of Telangana. The CEO was also personally honoured with medals and lauded their exceptional contributions to space technology and research for the international space Challenge. 

KITS Warangal  Engineering Student Teams Shine at NASA Space Apps Challenge Nationals held at Chandigarh University and Secured Global Nominations said by the Former MP Rajya Sabha, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Chairman, KITS Warangal 


In a remarkable display of innovation and technical progress, six teams from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW) participated in the prestigious NASA Space Apps Challenge, with three teams earning coveted spots as global nominees. The nationals, hosted at Chandigarh University from 28/09/2024 to 29/09/2024, brought together bright minds from across three states for an intensive 36-hour competition focused on solving real-world space and Earth science challenges.


According to the Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy One of the projects from KITSW was an innovative AI-driven platform that leverages data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The team developed an interactive system that creates personalized AI generated videos using JWST's scientific data, combining actual telescope imagery with AI-generated visuals. The platform's unique feature includes multilingual narration capabilities and custom music integration, making space exploration more accessible and engaging for users worldwide. This innovative solution was developed by a KITSW team, TeamOne lead by P Yashwanth Krishna along with team members Eesha, Haricharan and Hasini.


The achievements of these talented students received high praise from KITS Warangal's Principal, Prof K Ashoka Reddy, who commended their innovative thinking and dedication. Following their success, the three nominated teams along with Dr. K Raja Narender Reddy on 22/10/2024, visited T-Works in Hyderabad, where they presented their groundbreaking solutions to the CEO of T-Works, Joginder Tanikella. He also personally facilitated the teams and lauded their exceptional contributions to space technology and research, highlighting their potential to compete at the international level of the NASA Space Apps Challenge. 

The teams from KITSW that secured spots as Global Nominees are :

Team Noah :Nikhil Madaravena, Srikar Sriramoju, Laxmi Niroop Papani, Gurman Singh Bajaj

Team One : Hasini, Haricharan, Eesha, Yashwanth

Team Space Spectra: Onisuhaas, Sahasra, Mourya, Pranathi


In this regard Management Members, Captain V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer, P. Narayana Reddy,  Husnabad constituency former  MLA, V. Sathish Kumar, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy have appreciated and   congratulated the selected students for their latest innovation.  

In this event Head of C-i2RE, Dr K. Rajanarendar Reddy, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, all the Heads, all the deans, Associate professor of chemistry &  PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, all the student representatives, Selected 12 students of 9 departments were present.
