MSME Defence Conclave to Focus on Opportunities in India's Defence Sector
The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP), in partnership with the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), is hosting the MSME Defence Conclave titled *"Indian Defence Ecosystem and Opportunities for MSMEs - Vision 2030."* The event will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at ALEAP Industrial Estate in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The conclave aims to highlight the role of small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in India's defence sector and to discuss growth opportunities. The event will start with the inauguration of ALEAP’s new Digital Studio by the Chief Guest, Shri D. Sridhar Babu Garu, Telangana’s Minister for IT, Electronics, Communications, Industries, and Commerce.
Key speakers include Dr. Praveen P A, Director of Aerospace & Defence for Telangana, and Ms. Sukhgeet Kaur from the Department of Defence Production, who will discuss the Indian Defence Ecosystem's opportunities for MSMEs. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jha, Chairman of MIDHANI, will also share insights into India’s push for self-reliance in defence.
**Technical Sessions on Self-Reliance and Funding**
The event will feature two technical sessions. The first session, “Aatmanirbhar in Defence: Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs and MSMEs,” will cover how MSMEs can take part in defence procurement. The session will include discussions by industry leaders, including officials from Bharat Dynamics Ltd. and the Ministry of MSME, as well as success stories from entrepreneurs such as Santoshi Buddhiraju, Co-Founder of Autocracy Machinery Pvt. Ltd.
The second session, “Capacity Building and Funding for MSMEs in Defence,” will focus on funding opportunities. Panelists will include representatives from SIDBI, the National Stock Exchange, and other key players who will discuss strategies for MSMEs to expand in the defence sector.
The event will conclude with a networking lunch and B2B meetings, providing MSMEs a platform to connect with industry experts, investors, and defence representatives, paving the way for future partnerships.
This conclave is expected to provide valuable insights for MSMEs as India works towards greater self-reliance in defence production.
