Warangal, February 25:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MED) and the Centre for Innovation, Incubation, Research and Entrepreneurship (C-i²RE), along with the Student Alliance of Innovation and Leadership (SAiL) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), organized a mentoring and technical session on Innovation and Incubation Activities for junior college students.
Around 80 students from Telangana Tribal Welfare Girls Junior College, Kothawada, Warangal district, actively participated in the session, reflecting strong interest in emerging technologies and innovation-driven skills.
Prof. K. Rajanarendar Reddy, Head of C-i²RE and Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, stated that the session aimed to nurture creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among young learners.
On the occasion, KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy highlighted that students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields are increasingly seeking opportunities to enhance technical knowledge, cultivate innovative mindsets, and develop teamwork and communication skills. To meet these needs, KITS Warangal has expanded its co-curricular initiatives to include design challenges, hackathons, startup competitions, customer idea and discovery labs, and pitch competitions to support budding innovators.
The mentoring session focused on connecting ideas with real-world applications, encouraging students to think like project managers, innovators, and solution providers.
Prof. Srikanth Pabba, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, shared insights into disruptive technologies and their practical applications, motivating students to build strong technical competencies and explore innovative solutions.
Student representatives from SAiL, including the Student President, Event Manager, EDC Vice President, along with Deans, Heads of Departments, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, were present. In total, around 180 students actively participated in the event.
