KITS Warangal Student Wins Grand Prize at International Hackathon
Receives $1,500 award in TestSprite competition
A student from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal, has won the Grand Prize at an international hackathon held in March 2026.
Pavushetty Yashwanth Krishna secured first place in the global “TestSprite” hackathon and received a cash prize of 1,500 US dollars (approximately Rs. 1.4 lakh). According to KITS Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Yashwanth was the only participant selected from India in this competition.
The institute management congratulated the student for his achievement.
Additional Secretary of KITS Warangal and former Husnabad MLA V. Satish Kumar said that Yashwanth has achieved several successes at the international level.
In January 2025, he won first prize at the Hypermode Knowledge Graph AI Challenge, which had 533 participants worldwide. In February 2025, he secured first place in a hackathon conducted by IBM, where around 1,900 participants took part.
His project “ImgCrafter AI” was selected for funding by Adobe in June 2025. Later, in November 2025, he won third prize at the AI Genesis Hackathon conducted by Opus, which had around 5,000 participants.
In January 2026, he again secured first place in a Web3 hackathon with about 2,000 participants. In March 2026, another project titled “Content Hub” was also selected for funding by Adobe.
KITS Chairman Capt. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayan Reddy, Additional Secretary V. Satish Kumar, and Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy congratulated Yashwanth.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Ashoka Reddy said the institute is happy with the student’s achievement and noted that such success reflects the efforts of both the student and the institution.
Faculty members, department heads, registrar, deans, and Yashwanth’s parents also congratulated him.
