KITS Warangal Conducts HACKSTORM-2026 with 36 Student Teams
144 students participate in a 24-hour hackathon event
Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS Warangal) organized HACKSTORM-2026 for B.Tech students, with participation from 36 teams representing various engineering colleges across Telangana.
According to Principal K. Ashoka Reddy, a total of 144 students took part in the 24-hour hackathon held from April 11 at 9:30 AM to April 12 at 10:30 AM. The event was conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with the Centre for i2RE.
The programme was inaugurated by Manchala Sadanandam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Kakatiya University, who lit the lamp at the New Seminar Hall on the KITS campus. He spoke about the importance of innovation and encouraged students to stay focused on developing new ideas.
Guest of honour Yaganteeshwarudu, a Senior Specialist Data Scientist at Deloitte, advised students to adopt sustainable technologies and focus on creating solutions rather than only consuming them.
Head of the CSE Department P. Niranjan Reddy said the department has been conducting hackathons to improve students’ technical and competitive skills. He also asked students to make use of the facilities available at the institution.
The inaugural session was presided over by K. Raja Narender Reddy, Head of the Centre for i2RE. On the occasion, it was noted that final-year student P. Yashwanth Krishna had earned around $17,000 through participation in 16 global hackathons.
Faculty members, coordinators, and more than 230 students attended the event.
