KITSW NSS Club Receives Governor Award for Third Consecutive Year

Warangal, June 14: The NSS Club of the Student Activity Centre (SAC) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has received the Governor Award for “Deepest Appreciation for Institutional Highest Blood Donor Motivator” for the academic year 2025-26.

KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy announced that the award was presented in recognition of the institution’s contribution of the highest number of blood units to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) for the benefit of patients and the public. The institute has received the award for three consecutive years — 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26.

The award was presented by Telangana Governor and IRCS President Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, on Saturday, coinciding with World Blood Donor Day 2026. KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy and NSS Programme Officer Dr. Ch. Satish Chandra received the award on behalf of the institution.

Speaking at the event, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said voluntary blood donation helps save lives and emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the need for safe blood and plasma. He appreciated KITSW students for actively participating in social service activities while also performing well academically.

The Governor referred to the 2026 theme, “One Drop of Humanity, Give Blood, Save Lives,” and encouraged people to participate in blood donation drives.

Hanumakonda District Collector and District Magistrate Smt. Chahat Bajpai, IAS, attended the programme as a guest.

Former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and KITS Warangal Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, Additional Secretary and former Husnabad MLA Vodithala Satish Kumar, and Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy congratulated the NSS and SAC student teams for securing the award through the successful organisation of mega blood donation camps.

Among those present were IRCS Hanumakonda Chairman Dr. P. Vijaychander Reddy, IRCS State Managing Committee Member E. Srinivasa Rao and NSS Programme Officer Dr. Ch. Satish Chandra.

KITSW Registrar Prof. M. Konal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. S. Narsimha Reddy, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. K. Sridhar, faculty members and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary also congratulated the NSS team, student coordinators and SAC members on the achievement.
