ACB Registers Disproportionate Assets Case Against Suspended Additional SP in Telangana

Hyderabad, June 3, 2026: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Sri Nayini Bhujanga Rao, Additional Superintendent of Police, Telangana, who is currently under suspension.

According to an ACB press note, the case was registered on allegations that the officer acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and other means during his service.

Following the registration of the case, ACB officials conducted searches on June 3, 2026, at the officer’s residence and 15 other locations linked to his relatives, associates, and alleged benamidars.

During the searches, officials reportedly found documents relating to 27.29 acres of agricultural land in Suryapet and Nalgonda districts, five open plots, two houses, and a commercial building in Hyderabad.

The ACB also seized cash of about Rs. 3.83 lakh, bank balances of around Rs. 8 lakh, and gold ornaments weighing approximately one kilogram from the officer’s residence. A Maruti Swift car and a Kia Seltos vehicle were also found during the searches.

The total value of the assets identified during the searches was estimated at Rs. 5.92 crore based on documented values. Officials stated that the market value of the immovable properties could be higher than the recorded value.

During the search at the residence, officials also noticed 29 liquor bottles and informed the Excise Department for further action.

The ACB said verification of additional assets is continuing and the investigation is in progress. The accused officer is being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand.
