Hyderabad:
Former District Governor of Lions International, Senior Journalist Lion Kanna Parashuramulu, is set to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented during the 2024–25 Awards Presentation Ceremony scheduled to be held on Sunday evening, December 28, at the New Shyampet Lions Bhavan.
The award will be presented by Immediate Past District Governor and Multiple Council Secretary, Lion Kunduru Venkata Reddy, informed District Cabinet Secretary for 2024–25, Lion Syed Habeeb.
On this occasion, awards will also be given to clubs, club presidents, and leaders who rendered outstanding services in the district during the previous year.
Lion Kanna Parashuramulu, who is being honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year, joined the Lions movement in 1985. Through his steady rise in leadership, he served as District Governor during 2022–23. During his tenure, it is noteworthy that 64 clubs, 8 Region Chairpersons, 24 Zone Chairpersons, and five other leaders received the prestigious International President’s Excellence Awards.
For over four decades, Lion Kanna Parashuramulu has played a key role in Lions Club service activities, particularly in the eradication of blindness by organizing eye examination camps and facilitating free eye surgeries for the needy. He has also actively contributed to blood donation drives and several other humanitarian service initiatives.
He made significant efforts in organizational expansion by establishing new Lions Clubs, many of which have produced prominent leaders within the Lions movement.
Professionally a journalist, Lion Kanna Parashuramulu balanced his vocation with dedicated service to the Lions organization. His professional colleagues, service associates, and members of his home club, Jangaon Abad Lions Club, expressed joy and extended heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of his receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
