Inter-Collegiate Tournaments 2026-27 for Men Conclude at KITS Warangal

Warangal: The Inter-Collegiate Tournaments 2026-27 for Men (Phase-I), under the jurisdiction of Kakatiya University (KU), concluded with a presentation ceremony at the Indoor Stadium of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) Warangal campus.

The tournaments were organised by the Department of Physical Education, KITS Warangal. A total of 972 players from 46 colleges across the erstwhile Adilabad, Khammam and Warangal districts participated in the two-day competitions.

Six sporting disciplines were conducted during the tournament. The indoor games included table tennis and badminton, while football, kho-kho, basketball and volleyball were conducted as outdoor games.

Speaking on the occasion, KITS Warangal Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said participation in sports helps students develop interpersonal and leadership skills and contributes to their overall development. He said such tournaments also provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting abilities.

KITSW Chairman and former Rajya Sabha MP Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer Sri P. Narayana Reddy and KITSW Additional Secretary and former MLA Sri V. Satish Kumar congratulated the winners and runners-up and appreciated the efforts of the participating players.

KITSW Administrative Officer and Professor of Physical Education Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy delivered the presidential remarks. He said the tournament provided a platform for talented players from the region to compete and showcase their skills.

He added that KITS Warangal has been providing the necessary facilities and support to encourage young players and promote a sporting culture among students.

KITSW Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Organising Secretary and Head of the Department of Physical Education Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy, Physical Directors Venkataswamy, Mahesh, Nagaraju, Dr. ATBT Prasad, Dr. Sridhar, Shashikanth, Gopi Krishna, Narender and Suman, along with deans, heads of departments, faculty and staff members, attended the programme.

Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary and the 972 participating players were also present at the ceremony.
