Warangal, Aug 13: An “Awareness Campaign and Mass Pledge Against Drug Abuse” was conducted today at the Silver Jubilee Seminar Hall, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) Warangal campus. The event was organized by KITS Warangal in association with the Police Commissionerate of Warangal and the NSS unit of the college, following the guidelines of the Government of Telangana.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Hanumakonda, P. Narsimha Rao attended as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he stressed the importance of saying “No to Drugs,” urging youth to choose healthy and productive lifestyles. He noted that KITS Warangal has maintained a drug-free campus and appreciated the management’s efforts.
The ACP emphasized discipline, health, and the role of students in building a drug-free Telangana. He called on students to be active partners in the government’s anti-drug mission. A mass pledge against drug abuse was taken by all participants, with the slogan: “Youth don’t take drugs and don’t let anyone.”
Former Rajya Sabha Member and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and former MLA & KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Sathish Kumar congratulated the KITSW Anti-Drug Committee for conducting the program.

Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said drugs harm creativity and positive attitudes. He advised students to focus on skill development, especially in technology, and to contribute to building the nation constructively.
Station House Officer S. Ravikumar, Sub-Inspector Srikanth, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, Anti-Drug Committee Convener Prof. K. Sridhar, members Dr. P. Nagarjuna Reddy, Dr. Ch. Sateesh Chandra, Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, police officials, and about 360 students and staff attended the event.
