Grand Celebration of Bathukamma Fest at KITS Warangal


Warangal, Sept. 26:
A grand Bathukamma celebration was organized at the Playfields of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) on Monday. The event was jointly hosted by the Music, Dance & Fine Arts (MDF) Club, the Student Activity Center (SAC), and the Sahasra Women’s Cell of the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy highlighted the cultural significance of Bathukamma, calling it a festival that reflects the vibrancy of nature, unity in society, and the strength of womanhood in Telangana and across the country. He described it as an eco-friendly festival of flowers, symbolizing harmony between people and nature. Students brought colorful flowers and beautifully designed Bathukammas, adding grandeur to the celebration.
KITSW Chairman and former Rajya Sabha Member Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and Additional Secretary and former Husnabad MLA Vodithala Satheesh Kumar extended their congratulations to the women faculty and the MDF Club for organizing the festival in a grand manner.
The celebration witnessed active participation from more than 500 students, faculty, and staff. Dean of Student Affairs Prof. M. Sreelatha, Sahasra Women’s Cell Chairperson Dr. K. Sowjanya, Convener Smt. V. Gowtami, faculty in-charges Dr. PSS Murthy, Dr. Ch. Sridevi, Dr. Grace Shanti (Literary Club in-charge), along with student leaders N. Samhitha (MDF President), Sri Lasya, and representatives from the PMC — Sai Sumanth (President), Sai Satvik, and Sai Charan — also took part in the festivities.
