Grand Celebrations of 37th Annual Sports Day at KITS Warangal


Warangal, March 2026:
The Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science Warangal (KITSW) witnessed vibrant celebrations as the Department of Physical Education organized the 37th Annual Sports Day–2026 at its play fields with great enthusiasm and participation.
The event was inaugurated by former international badminton player P. Manoj Kumar, who lit the ceremonial lamp. He was joined by Guest of Honour CVR Mohan, a prominent American IT consultant and proud alumnus (1990–94 batch), along with former MLA of Husnabad and KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, management member E. Ramreddy, and Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized the importance of sports in shaping personality, enhancing discipline, and maintaining physical and mental well-being. He encouraged students to pursue sports alongside academics and stressed that determination and passion can lead to success in all aspects of life.
Guest of Honour CVR Mohan highlighted that sports go beyond physical fitness, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and overall personality development. He praised KITSW for maintaining a balanced environment that integrates academics with sports.
In his presidential address, Vodithala Satish Kumar stated that participation in sports helps students develop leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, which are essential for becoming responsible professionals and contributing to society.
The event followed the theme “One Spirit… One Team… One Win”, reflecting unity and teamwork. The Principal also lauded the achievements of B.Tech second-year CSE student Beerelli Pranavi, who secured victories at the All India Senior National Wrestling Championship in Ahmedabad and the Senior National Federation Cup in Ghaziabad during the academic year.
According to Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, more than 40 sports and games were conducted during the academic year 2025–26 for B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA students. A total of 12 trophies and over 500 medals were awarded, with additional recognitions for outstanding performers across various events.
The programme was attended by Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, Head of Physical Education Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy, PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, faculty members, student representatives, coordinators, and over 1,500 students along with their parents.
