Students Showcase AI and Machine Learning Projects
Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science Warangal organised “Project Expo–2026” through the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning – CSM) for B.Tech final-year students on May 9, 2026.
Principal K. Ashoka Reddy said the event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. The expo aimed to encourage innovation, research, technical creativity, and practical learning among students.
Chief guest Vijay Kumar Ambadi said the expo provided a platform for students to present projects in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, intelligent systems, smart automation and other emerging technologies.
The projects were evaluated by industry experts Vijay Kumar Ambadi and Sai Krishna Rao V. The experts appreciated the students for their innovative ideas, technical implementation, presentation skills and real-world problem-solving approaches.
According to Sai Krishna Rao V, a total of 35 projects from the outgoing 2025-26 batch were displayed at the expo. Among them, two projects received special recognition and prizes.
One of the selected projects titled “Nexis: A Multimodal AI Companion for Mental Health Monitoring” was presented by students Anumala Susharai, Vangala Yashwanth Sukumar, Kuchana Sankrishna and Kodam Adhvaith under the guidance of Jothi Prabha Appadurai. The project was appreciated for its social relevance and use of explainable artificial intelligence techniques.
Another recognised project titled “An Explainable AI Framework with Interactive Visualization for Predicting Adolescent Concern Over Unhealthy Food Advertisements” was presented by students Shiva Krishna Reddy Burra, Naga Tharun Yerra, Varshitha Kodam and Jayanth Chandragiri under the guidance of Vinay Kumar K.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal K. Ashoka Reddy encouraged students to focus on innovation, research, entrepreneurship and industry-oriented skill development. He stressed the importance of project-based learning in technical education.
Head of the Department A. JothiPrabha, faculty coordinators Dr. K. Vinay Kumar, Dr. B. Hanumanthu, Sri I. Sai Rama Krishna, Smt. R. Swetha and Smt. E. Rajitha, along with student coordinators Md. Shahbaaz and V. Ashreetha, coordinated the event.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, former Husnabad MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar and Principal K. Ashoka Reddy congratulated the Department of CSM and the Project Expo–2026 team for successfully organising the event.
