The NSS Unit of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS Warangal) participated in the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme conducted under the ‘My Bharat’ initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The programme aims to promote national integration, cultural understanding, and leadership development, said Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
Representing Telangana, KITS Warangal NSS volunteers took part in programmes held in Kerala and Karnataka states.
Kerala Team
The Kerala team attended the five-day programme from February 9 to 13, 2026. The participants were N. Shiva Deepak (Final Year CSO), Y. Roshini (Final Year CSE), and S. Chetana (II Year CSM). The students participated in cultural exchange activities, community service programmes, leadership sessions, and visits to educational institutions.
They visited the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Neyyar Dam. They also learned about Kalaripayattu, a traditional martial art of Kerala.
Karnataka Team
The Karnataka team participated in the programme held from February 12 to 16, 2026, in Dakshina Kannada district. The volunteers included V. Vikas (Final Year CSE) and R. Vathsalya (Final Year CSO). They took part in rural outreach activities, leadership workshops, and cultural interaction sessions.
During the visit, they witnessed Bhoota Kola and Yakshagana performances. They also visited the Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple and the New Mangalore Sea Port.
Presentation of Telangana Culture
Both teams presented Telangana festivals Bonalu and Bathukamma during the exchange programme and explained their cultural significance and traditions to participants from other states.
Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Dr. K. Sridhar, department heads, NSS Programme Officers, faculty members, and staff congratulated the students for receiving national-level appreciation in the cultural domain.
