A tense situation prevailed in SS Tadvai mandal of Mulugu district when four villagers got trapped in flood waters near Kalvapalli village on Monday evening.
According to reports, Dubari Ramayya had gone to graze cattle while P. Saikiran, Rajababu, and P. Ramulu ventured out for fishing. When they failed to return home by evening, their families and villagers grew anxious as the stream’s water level kept rising.
Upon receiving Information,local officials alerted the NDRF team around 11 PM following the orders of the District Collector Diwakara TS.
Acting swiftly, an NDRF unit led by Inspector Manmohan Yadav rushed to the spot. With strong currents making the rescue risky, the team used ropes to first bring Ramayya, the cattle grazer, safely to the shore.
The operation didn’t stop there. Moving a kilometer further along the swollen stream, the NDRF located the remaining three — Saikiran, Rajababu, and Ramulu — and brought them to safety before handing them over to their families.
The rescue operation was led by Inspector Manmohan Yadav along with ASI Sudheer, Surender, Head Constable Jagadish, Chandra, Ramesh, Constable Anand, Ramanamurthy, Vishal, and other NDRF members. Local officials including Tadvai Mandal’s MRVO Suresh, MPDO, SI, and revenue staff also participated in the operation.
Thanks to their swift action, four precious lives were saved from the raging floods.
