Warangal, April 20, 2026
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two Sub-Registrars from Warangal in a bribery case after a surprise check at their office earlier this month.
The accused officers are Sri Davuluri Anand (Sub-Registrar-II) and Sri Jamalapuram Ramanarsimha Rao (Sub-Registrar-I). The check was conducted on April 2, 2026, at the Sub-Registrar office in Warangal (R.O), Hanumakonda district.
During the inspection, around 20 private document writers and agents were found moving inside the office under suspicious circumstances. Officials seized unaccounted cash of Rs.47,450 along with documents and mobile phones.
According to the investigation, the agents said they were collecting money from applicants for document registration on the instructions of the officers. The money was being passed to the officers in cash and through online payments.
ACB officials found that the accused were receiving bribes through both cash and digital transactions. Evidence from seized mobile phones showed WhatsApp chats and UPI transactions. Records also revealed handwritten details of collections over eight days amounting to Rs.16.23 lakh.
The total transactions linked to Davuluri Anand were found to be Rs.44.28 lakh, while those linked to Ramanarsimha Rao were Rs.74,000.
Further investigation showed that Davuluri Anand had purchased two commercial properties worth Rs.72 lakh at Kapil Kakatiya Towers in Nakkalagutta, Hanumakonda, in the name of his family members.
The ACB said there is clear evidence that both officers misused their positions and collected bribes through intermediaries.
Both officers were arrested on April 20, 2026, and produced before the Special Court for ACB cases in Warangal. The case is under investigation.
The ACB has asked the public to report any demand for bribes by calling toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp and social media, and the identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
