Warangal Commissionerate Police Nab Chain Snatcher


Warangal Commissionerate police arrested a chain snatcher who had been targeting women in deserted areas and was also involved in two-wheeler thefts. The arrest was made jointly by KUC and CCS police teams.
From the accused, police seized gold ornaments weighing 237 grams worth ₹23.5 lakh, three stolen two-wheelers, ₹10,000 in cash, and a mobile phone.
According to Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh, the accused, identified as Manthurthi Harish (29) from Elkathurthi mandal, initially worked as a quality technician in a cement company. He first stole a gold chain from his colleague’s house and pawned it at a gold finance firm. Even after serving jail time, he continued his crimes to fund his lavish lifestyle.
Police revealed that Harish was involved in 10 chain snatchings and three two-wheeler thefts across the Warangal Commissionerate limits. He was caught at Yadavnagar Crossroad when police intercepted him on a suspicious bike. Upon interrogation, he confessed to his crimes, and stolen property was recovered from his rented house.

The Police Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Crimes DCP Gunasekhar, Crimes ACP Sadayya, Hanamkonda ACP Narsimha Rao, Inspectors Ravi Kumar & Raghavender (KUC & CCS), AAO Salman Pasha, SIs Raj Kumar & Shiva Kumar, HCs Anjaiah & Jampayya, PCs Madhukar, Chandrasekhar & Nagesh, and KUC PS staff for successfully apprehending the accused and recovering stolen property.
