Political Machination Unveiled:
The Honorable Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, has ignited controversy by proposing the reorganization and potential dissolution of newly formed districts, revealing a politically charged decision.
Wealth, Power, and Political Chess:
Revanth Reddy, with a background in real estate, understands the intricate connection between land, power, and politics. The move is seen as an attempt to disrupt the wealth accumulation strategies of politicians who benefited from the creation of new districts.
Congress' Tactical Maneuver:
The proposed policy seems to be a calculated move by the Congress party to attract politicians from rival factions, especially those who profited from the district expansion. However, potential repercussions on public sentiment and employment dynamics could be a double-edged sword.
The Honorable Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy has disturbed the hornet's nest for the first time after getting the power by declaring that some of the new districts formed by the BRS government would be wound up and merged with the neighboring districts.
This is a political decision and one should have no doubt about it. He was into real estate and made huge wealth out of it. He knows the value of lands and the power of the people who hold land in large chunks.
In recent elections, quite a good many politicians sold lands to invest in elections which helps again in amassing more land. This is a vicious circle, vicious for the people and precious for the guys in the profession.
It is no secret that before formation of the new districts, the politicians associated with the BRS government, from top to bottom, acquired huge lands in the proposed districts and in the proposed areas where huge development was planned. During the tenure of the BRS government the net worth of these politicians increased 10 to 100 times only a small portion of which was used to win the elections. Even common people who were already having small portions of land also benefited and these are in large numbers and represent a fertile vote bank.
Revanth Reddy's plan probably camouflages the intention that these BRS politicians who amassed huge wealth through formation of the new districts during BRS governance would be terrified by this new policy and make a beeline to join Congress party to stop this proposal.
This plan was found to be necessary because the Congress government got very thin margin and the aggressiveness of the biggest opposition, the BRS and unwillingness of the other leaders of BJP and MIM to join Congress party created a condition of precariat in the continuity of this government.

Therefore, there was a need for the Congress party to attract politicians from other parties to it ; usually this is done by purchase. This new decision is a clever ploy where the politicians of the BRS and also other parties would be forced automatically to come and join the Congress party in order to protect their properties which they bought as a result of the expansion of the districts and to again gain a semblance of power by joining the Congress party.
But there is a caviate in this strategy. While the BRS leaders in all these new districts were benefited, they were few in number and because of them lakhs of other small people benefited in each district because of the hike in the land prices and all these people will be very much cut up as a result of of this decision which might lead to drastic reduction in land prices in these new districts. By this strategy, the Congress party may increase its strength but will lose the popularity among the people who in the newly formed districts, in any case, supported the Congress party. This decision might distance these large number of people from the Congress party.
Another fallout of this policy will be reduction in the government jobs and the outsourced employees working in 20 plus departments in each new district. So the millions of job aspirants particularly from economically and socially backward communities, the unignorably vote bank, will turn against the party. Besides temporary employees working in these new districts will be surplus and may have to be shown the door leading to sudden deprival of their source of income which gave them security over many years even, more than a decade, in some cases.
The policy is therefore quite likely to create a large number of disgruntled people in the state and will amount to playing into the hands of KCR who has a tremendous and highly enviable skill to channelize the dissatisfaction in the people into vigorous movement against the government, the signals of which were already in the media in the statements of KTR. People are easily mobilizable when hurt financially than socially and culturally; that was the reason why Telangana movement took such a long time to fructify.
So it is my opinion that this is a fraught policy in being double edged and must be implemented with caution else the victory, won after long wait maybe jeopardized.
