Telangana State Formation Day Preparations Underway: Grand Celebrations Planned


In anticipation of Telangana State's Formation Day, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari conducted a detailed inspection of the arrangements at Parade Ground today. She emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among officials to ensure a grand and fitting celebration. During her visit, she reviewed the stage setup, barricading, electrical arrangements, water supply, audio systems, and LED screens, providing suggestions for improvements. The police were also briefed on traffic management, parking logistics, and VIP routes to ensure a smooth event.


Earlier in the day, Chief Secretary Kumari held a review meeting with Secretaries and senior officials at the Secretariat to assess the preparations. She announced a large-scale carnival on Tank Bund from 7 PM to 9 PM on Formation Day, featuring various art forms of the state. The event will see participation from 5000 trainee police officers and a band. Around 80 stalls will be set up along Tank Bund, offering food from renowned city hotels and showcasing handicrafts, handlooms, and self-help group products. A recreation hall with sports activities will cater to children, and officials have been directed to ensure that the large expected crowd faces no difficulties.


Following the cultural performances, there will be a grand firework display and a laser show. Chief Secretary Kumari also directed that all government offices should be illuminated to mark the occasion.


The Formation Day celebrations will commence in the morning with the Honorable Chief Minister paying tributes to the martyrs of Telangana at the Martyrs Stupam in Gun Park. He will then participate in the program at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds, where he will unveil the State Song and deliver a message to the public.


Key officials present at the review meeting included DGP Ravi Gupta, Principal Secretaries Dana Kishore, Sailaja Ramaiyer, Srinivasa Raju, GAD Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Additional DG Sanjay Kumar Jain, RTC MD Sajjanar, Information & Public Relations Department Special Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, NPDCL MD Mushraff, and HMDA Additional Commissioner Amrapali Kata.
