Yadadri,July 11, 2024; D. Ronald Rose, the Secretary to the Government of Telangana and Chairman & Managing Director of TGGENCO & TGTRANSCO, visited the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) today. The inspection focused on the ongoing construction and commissioning of the 5X800MW power units.


During his visit, Ronald Rose inspected various parts of the plant, including the boilers, turbines, and generators. He stressed the need to speed up activities where delays were noted. He was present in the Central Control Room to observe the steam blowing operations in Unit-2 Boiler and even operated some blows himself. 


He also visited the Boiler auxiliaries, Turbine auxiliaries, Natural Draft Cooling Towers, Transformer Yard, and 400KV Switch Yard. He issued directives to BHEL to avoid further delays and synchronize the units of Stage-I by August 25 and September 25, 2024, respectively. The goal is to commission these units by October to meet the peak power demand during the upcoming kharif season.


Ronald Rose also inspected the Railway line, Marshalling Yard, Coal Handling Plant, and Ash Handling Plant. He emphasized the need to have the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) and Ash Handling Plant (AHP) systems ready in time for the synchronization of the respective units.


He urged BHEL and other agencies involved to accelerate the Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) works of Stage-II, which are currently behind schedule. He reviewed the activity-wise equipment commissioning schedules and encouraged TGGENCO Engineers and BHEL officials to coordinate closely with working agencies to prevent any slippages.
