Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari directed the collectors to ensure that sand is available in sufficient quantity at reasonable price for the consumers. CS held a Video Conference with District Collectors of Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Peddapalli, Mancherial and Karimnagar. She directed the collectors to maintain round the clock vigil of the reaches and stockyards and ensure that there is no unauthorised lifting of sand from these reaches and stockyards. Collectors were told to constitute joint teams and intensify road patrolling with the involvement of police and transport department officials.
Principal Secretary Mines Sridhar informed that meetings with stakeholders and transporters was held today and they were briefed about the government’s decision to free sand from the clutches of unwarranted elements so as to ensure that sand is available for the common man at a reasonable price. He also informed that TGMDC will leverage technology to control pilferage of sand.
DGP Jitender, Intelligence DG B.Shivadhar Reddy, ADGP (Law & Order) Mahesh Bhagwat, Mines Principal Secretary N.Sridhar, Transport Commissioner Surendra Mohan, HYDRAA Commissioner A.V.Ranganath, DMG Shashanka, TGMDC MD Susheel Kumar and other officials attended the video conference.
