Warangal, June 27: The inaugural ceremony of Warangal Kaushal Mahotsav was held on Saturday at the auditorium of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS), Warangal. The programme was organised by the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) under the Government of India’s Kaushal Bharat/Viksit Bharat initiative. The event was conducted with the theme, “Celebrating Skills, Empowering Youth and Building Tomorrow,” said KITS Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.
The programme was inaugurated by Wardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju. Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, former Husnabad MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary & In-charge Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, Skill India Telangana Director Kapilavai Dileep Kumar and other guests participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA K.R. Nagaraju said skills, attitude and sports play an important role in improving employment opportunities. He said students should identify and develop their hidden talents for a better future. He advised youth to stay away from drugs, ganja and unnecessary social media distractions, while making good use of modern technology. He also stressed the importance of developing creativity, communication, collaboration skills, knowledge of artificial intelligence and a positive attitude to improve employability.
Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy said Warangal has become an educational hub and students should pursue skill-oriented education along with strong subject knowledge. He said self-motivation, dedication and a service-minded approach are important for success.
Skill India Telangana Director Kapilavai Dileep Kumar said the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students seeking employment and skill training opportunities. He said 101 companies participated in the programme and around 6,000 placements were facilitated. He added that KITS Warangal has introduced a skill and competency-based curriculum to provide quality education.
Former Husnabad MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary & In-charge Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar, who presided over the programme, said KITS Warangal has been recognised by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. He said positive thinking and the right attitude help students develop leadership qualities. He added that the institute is committed to producing technologically competent and ethically responsible graduates.
Among those present were MSME Director V.S. Aravind, Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreeth Singh, IPS, Prof. Kurapati Venkata Narayana, former MP Prof. T. Seetharam Nayak, former OU Dean of Law Gali Vinod Kumar, UBI Chief Manager Chandrashekar, KITS Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, PRO and Associate Professor Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary and other dignitaries. More than 7,000 participants from across Telangana attended the event.
