Warangal: The Mechanical Engineering Students for Automation (MESA) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering jointly organized a seminar on “From Engineer to Project Manager – Career Guidance and Project Management for Mechanical Engineering Students” at the ME Seminar Hall, KITS Warangal Campus.
KITS Warangal Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said that the seminar was organized to provide students with guidance on career opportunities, project management and industry requirements.
The chief guest, Prof. P. Muralidhar of the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), addressed the students on career opportunities and the skills required for project management. He said mechanical engineering students have opportunities in both core engineering industries and software organizations. He also noted that knowledge of mechanical engineering is important for software applications related to the engineering sector.
Prof. Muralidhar advised students to develop technical knowledge, leadership skills and an understanding of industry requirements to build successful careers.
According to Dr. Srikanth Pabba, Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the revised mechanical engineering curriculum includes C, C++, Data Structures, Java programming, Artificial Intelligence and other industry-relevant courses. These subjects are expected to provide students with opportunities in emerging technology areas and help them prepare for industry requirements.
The objective of the seminar was to create awareness among students about career paths, project management and emerging technologies and to improve their industry readiness.
Dr. G. Ganesh Kumar, Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator, along with Dr. Devaraj, Prof. K. Sridhar, Prof. K. Rajanarender Reddy, Prof. U. Shrinivas Balraj, faculty and staff members, and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakarachary attended the programme.
