KITS Warangal Students Organise Mega Blood Donation Camp

Warangal, September 30: The NSS Club and Student Activity Centre (SAC) of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITSW), Warangal, organised a mega blood donation camp at the KITSW campus auditorium on Wednesday in association with Lions Club Warangal and HDFC Bank, Hanamkonda branch.

The blood donation camp was conducted for the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Hanumakonda. More than 450 units of blood had been collected by 4.30 p.m., while the organisers later reported a total of 466 units donated to IRCS Hanumakonda.

KITSW Treasurer and Lions Club Warangal charter member P. Narayana Reddy said the response from students to the blood donation camp reflected their willingness to support people in need. He said blood donation is an important form of social service and can help save lives.

KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said voluntary blood donation helps ensure the availability of blood for patients during emergencies and for routine medical treatment. He said the participation of students in such programmes helps develop a sense of social responsibility.

Former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, KITSW Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and former Husnabad MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Sateesh Kumar congratulated the SAC student executive team and students who participated in the blood donation drive.

Lions Club Warangal President P. Venkateswarlu, Secretary K. Vishnu Kumar Gupta, Treasurer Padire Keerthi Teja Reddy, IRCS Hanumakonda Chairman Dr. P. Vijayachander Reddy, IRCS State Executive Committee member E.V. Srinivasa Rao and HDFC Bank Hanamkonda Operations Manager K.V. Sivakumar attended the programme.

KITSW NSS Programme Officer and Associate Professor of Physics Dr. Ch. Satish Chandra, Additional Programme Officer S. Bhargavi, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. K. Sridhar, Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy and members of the KITSW dispensary team, including Dr. Sushmitha, also participated.

NSS Club President Jashwanth and student representatives from various clubs, including Srikethan, Rithika Choudhary, Krishna and Neeraj, coordinated the programme. Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members and around 500 KITSW students took part in the camp.
