Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled a special QR code at Osmania University on Wednesday, enabling students to submit their feedback and suggestions on the proposed Master Plan and campus redesign. University officials confirmed that the final plan will be drafted only after considering student inputs, ensuring a transparent and participatory approach.
Addressing students at the university campus, the Chief Minister said Osmania University was not just an academic institution but a symbol of Telangana’s self-respect and the epicentre of several historic people’s movements, including the Telangana statehood struggle.
Revanth Reddy recalled how many questioned his decision to visit the university. “To come to OU, one doesn’t need courage… one needs affection,” he said, adding that he stepped onto the campus with “a heart full of respect” and a commitment to rebuild the institution to international standards.
He highlighted Telangana’s legacy of resistance—from Komuram Bheem to the Telangana armed struggle—and praised OU and KU students for standing at the forefront of the fight for statehood. “Our youth asked for justice, equality and opportunities—not lands or farmhouses,” he remarked.
The CM said governments in the past tried to weaken Osmania University, but his administration was committed to restoring its glory. “I may not speak foreign languages, but I understand the pain of the poor,” he said, stressing that quality education was essential to eradicate backwardness.
Revanth Reddy announced steps including integrated residential schools, Young India Skills University, and Young India Sports University, with industry leaders such as Anand Mahindra guiding the institutions. He reiterated that appointments for teaching and non-teaching posts at OU would be free of political interference.
Promising a transformative investment of Rs.1,000 crore, the CM said his goal was to ensure that OU produces future doctors, lawyers, top administrators and leaders who would guide the state with integrity.
