Telangana’s Dr. MCR HRD Institute Launches Global Training Program on Entrepreneurship
Hyderabad: The Dr. MCR HRD Institute of the Government of Telangana has inaugurated a two-week international training program on entrepreneurship, aimed at helping participants build successful startups. The initiative is being conducted under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Smt. Santhi Kumari, IAS (Retd.), Vice Chairman & Director General (FAC) of the Institute, said entrepreneurship goes beyond creating businesses—it plays a vital role in driving innovation, generating employment, and ensuring sustainable growth. She noted that in today’s interconnected world, startups are global in vision and impact, unbound by geography.
Highlighting India’s rapid progress, she pointed out that the country has become the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with young entrepreneurs and unicorns transforming industries. She credited flagship government programs such as Startup India, Digital India, and Skill India as key enablers of this entrepreneurial surge.
Encouraging participants, she stressed the principle of “Think Local, Act Global,” urging them to design solutions rooted in local needs while contributing to the global economy.
The program’s Course Director, Dr. Madhavi Ravulapati, Professor and Head of the Centre for Law & Public Administration, outlined the unique curriculum. It combines lectures, workshops, and field visits, giving participants insights into startup ecosystems, innovation strategies, and growth models.
She added that beyond knowledge sharing, the program is designed to strengthen ties between nations of the Global South, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.
Welcoming the international delegates, Dr. Madhavi expressed confidence that the training would nurture entrepreneurial mindsets, encourage cross-border partnerships, and empower participants to become changemakers in their own countries.
