Dr. Pavan Kumar Chillappagari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree by Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar, Punjab. The announcement was made by KITSW Principal, Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, in an official press release.
Dr. Pavan Kumar completed his doctoral research on the topic “Design of Reduced Switch Count and Fault Resilient Ability of 7-Level Inverter,” under the guidance of Dr. N. Karthick, Associate Professor, and Dr. A. Madhukar Rao, Assistant Professor, both of whom are affiliated with KITSW.
His work focuses on developing a multi-level inverter with reduced switch count and enhanced fault resilience, specifically designed for off-grid applications. The innovation is particularly relevant for rural and remote communities where power reliability and system efficiency are crucial. The inverter’s fault-tolerant design ensures continuous operation without system shutdowns, contributing to improved energy access, enhanced quality of life, and the broader adoption of renewable energy systems.
