Warangal: An engaging student technical event titled “IDEATHON” was successfully organized at the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (i2RE) on the KITS Warangal campus. The event was jointly conducted by the Technical Club (TC) under the Student Activity Center (SAC) in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Centre for i2RE.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation among engineering students. He noted that ideathons provide a platform for students to present innovative ideas and prototype models that aim to solve real-world societal problems. He highlighted that creative thinking is the foundation of innovation and encouraged students to practice experimentation and transform their thoughts into impactful innovations.
“Every great achievement begins with an idea. Ideas stimulate imagination, and imagination drives improvement. When combined with proper planning and systematic implementation, they shape successful engineers,” he said.
The event received appreciation from former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer Shri P. Narayana Reddy, and former Husnabad MLA and Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar. They congratulated the organizers and participants for the successful conduct of the event.
Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. K. Sridhar, stated that the primary objective of the ideathon is to nurture technical skills and foster innovation among students. He mentioned that such initiatives help students become technologically proficient and enhance their employability. “A total of 105 students registered for the event, out of which 44 were shortlisted for idea presentations,” he added.
The inaugural function was attended by Prof. K. Sridhar, Head of Centre for i2RE Prof. K. Raja Narender Reddy, faculty coordinator Dr. B. Vijay Kumar, along with deans, heads of departments, jury members including Dr. Devaraj, Dr. D. Kumar, Dr. Pranay Kumar, Dr. Ramesh, and student representatives Nandini Azmeera, Sai Charan Mukka, J. Vishwanath Reddy, M. Nikhil, and other participants.
