KITS Warangal Holds Student Orientation Program for B.Tech Freshers – 2025
Warangal, August 6, 2025:
The Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW) hosted its Student Orientation Program (SOP) for B.Tech. first-year students for the academic year 2025–26 on Wednesday, August 6th. The program was held across five venues within the campus: the Auditorium, Silver Jubilee Seminar Hall, New Seminar Hall, Civil Seminar Hall, and Mechanical Seminar Hall.
Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy welcomed the newly admitted students and their parents, emphasizing the significance of competency-based education in the 21st century. “KITSW has introduced a competence-focused curriculum under the 2024 academic regulations (URR24), integrating both technical and generic competencies,” he said. He highlighted the institute’s vision to nurture engineering knowledge, values, and skills by fostering a culture of Innovation, Incubation, Research, and Entrepreneurship (i²RE).
Prof. Ashoka Reddy also remarked that mentorship, industry-aligned autonomy, and skill development are key elements in the journey to becoming successful engineers. He urged students to remain curious and proactive throughout their academic journey.
The event saw the presence of KITSW Chairman and Former Rajya Sabha MP Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer Sri P. Narayana Reddy, and Additional Secretary & former MLA Shri Vodithala Satish Kumar, who congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavors.
Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. K. Venumadhav, elaborated that the orientation aimed to introduce the students to faculty members, state-of-the-art laboratories, and advanced classroom infrastructure. He noted that KITSW has been categorized under the AICTE-CII Gold Category for eight consecutive years. As per AICTE guidelines, a Life Skills Induction Program is being conducted from August 7 to 14 to promote holistic development. Additionally, dual-degree options including honors and minors are now offered.
The academic excellence of KITSW students was also highlighted, with 249 research papers published and 991 NPTEL certifications earned through the SWAYAM platform.
Heads of Departments from various disciplines—ECE, ECI, Mechanical, Civil, EEE, CSE, CSN, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (IoT), and IT—gave presentations on lab facilities and academic support. All departments have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
The event was attended by Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, academic and administrative deans, program coordinators, heads of departments, and over 1,000 students and their parents. Faculty members including Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary (PRO), Dr. H. Ramesh Babu, Dr. K. Shivashankar, Dr. P. Prabhakar Rao, Dr. R. Srikanth, and Dr. R. Ramesh were also present.

The former Rajya Sabha MP, KITSW Chairman, Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao and Treasurer, Sri P. Narayana Reddy, & former MLA Husnabad constituency & KITSW Additional secretary, Shri Vodithala Satish Kumar and other management members have congratulated and wished the Newly joined B. Tech. students for their bright future.
On this occasion Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy highlighted that the competencies and skills are playing key roles for the present 21st century education through Outcome Based Education (OBE). Our institute has introduced a competence focussed curriculum under rules and regulations of 2024(URR24). Which includes Technical and generic competencies. The main objective is imparting engineering knowledge, Skills, Values and attitude. It is achieved by inculcating innovation, incubation Research and Entrepreneurship (i2RE) culture among the student community. Applying knowledge to what you know is called skill. Put your gained knowledge in practice to strengthen your skill set.
Our teachers are dedicated towards service and parent of the parent regarding mentorship for the students. The advantage of autonomy is that industry relevant programs. At our institute for making good engineers we are imparting sound knowledge in engineering science and technology, ability to solve well-defined & ill-defined problems and communicate effectively. Society should become an innovative society.

According to dean academic affairs Prof. K. Venumadhav the main objective of the program is to introduce all the departments faculty, high equipped laboratories and classrooms for the benefit of the B. Tech. first year students. Our institute has been the AICTE-CII gold category institute for the last 8 consecutive years. According to AICTE New Delhi we have been conducting an induction training program for first year students on life skills for all round development from 7th to 14th August, 2025. We also introduced dual degree options as additional learning honors / minor along with basic degree. Our students published 249 research papers in various conferences and reputed journals and achieved 991 NPTEL certificates through swayam platform.

All the Heads of the Department from the various engineering disciplines such as ECE, ECI, Mechanical, Civil, EEE, CSE, CSN, CSE(AI&ML), CSE (IoT), and IT branches have given the presentation on the laboratories and equipment provided for the students. All the departments were accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

Ramesh Babu HoD of M&H Dr. K. Shivashankar, all the deans, faculty, staff and Associate Professor of Chemistry, & PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, faculty in-charges for academic affairs, Dr. P. Prabhakar Rao, Dr. R. Srikanth & Dr. R. Ramesh and 1000 above students and their pareants were present.
