KITS Warangal Organizes Free Women’s Health Camp to Promote Awareness on Preventive Care

The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) organized a Free Women’s Health Camp titled “A Commitment to Women’s Wellness” at the college auditorium on Saturday.

The camp was conducted for the benefit of girl students and women faculty members of the institution.


Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy stated that the primary objective of the program was to create awareness about preventive healthcare and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis among women. He said the overwhelming response to the camp reflects the institution’s commitment towards women’s empowerment, health awareness, and overall well-being.


The program was graced by Chief Guest Dr. B. Sandhya Rani, MD, DGO, Managing Director of Laxmi Narasimha Multispeciality Hospitals, Hanamkonda. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandhya Rani highlighted the significance of regular health check-ups and preventive screenings for women. She informed that the camp included Cervical Cancer Screening, Breast Cancer Screening, Anemia Screening, and General Health Consultations.
The medical camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sandhya Rani in collaboration with Laxmi Narasimha Hospitals, along with her dedicated medical team.


Guest doctors Dr. N. Srujana (MBBS, MS OBG) and Dr. B. Akshitha (DGO), Gynecologist, also participated in the camp and interacted with the students.


The Women Empowerment Cell is headed by Dr. K. Sowjanya, Assistant Professor, ECED, as Chairperson, and Smt. V. Gouthami, Assistant Professor, CSED, as Convenor. Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, faculty executive members, and student coordinators M. Smarana, A. Reethika Chowdary, and A. Sreeshna actively contributed to the successful organization of the event.


More than 200 girl students participated in the camp and had an interactive session with the doctors, making the program a meaningful and impactful initiative.
