Warangal, Sept 24:
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Day-2025 was celebrated at the Civil Seminar Hall, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW). The event was organized by NSS volunteers under the Student Activity Centre (SAC).
Speaking on the occasion, KITSW Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy said that the NSS unit of KITS Warangal has successfully completed 40 years of service and continues to focus on connecting educational institutions with local communities, particularly in rural areas. He appreciated the student volunteers for their active participation in social service and innovative technical activities.
Former Rajya Sabha MP and KITSW Chairman Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, KITSW Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, and former MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Shri Vodithala Sateesh Kumar congratulated and encouraged the NSS volunteers and SAC team.
District Youth Officer Ch. Anvesh, the Chief Guest, said that this year’s key themes for NSS are “Youth for Digital India,” “Youth for My Bharat,” and “Youth for Digital Lite.” He recalled that NSS was launched on September 24, 1969, in the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, and since then, the day has been observed annually with activities that serve society.
KITSW Dean of Student Affairs Prof. M. Srilatha, other deans, heads of departments, NSS Coordinator Dr. Ch. Sateesh Chandra, Co-Programme Officer K. Santosh Bhargavi, PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, Student Coordinator N. Shiva Deepak, Joint Secretary R. Vathsalya, M. Shrijani, and more than 130 NSS volunteers participated in the celebrations.
