Warangal: The poster for the Internal Hackathon of Smart India Hackathon-2026 (SIH-2026) was launched at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS), Warangal, on the campus.
The internal hackathon is being organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in association with the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (Centre for i2RE) and the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC). The event is scheduled to be held on September 18, 2026, at the Civil Seminar Hall, KITSW.
Former MLA and KITSW Additional Secretary Vodithala Satish Kumar launched the poster along with Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, Head of the CSE Department Dr. P. Niranjan and members of the CSE Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Satish Kumar said students need to focus on skill-based education and practical problem-solving. He said Smart India Hackathon provides students with an opportunity to work on problems faced in society and develop solutions using technology.
The internal hackathon will cover themes including smart automation, fitness and sports, heritage and culture, MedTech and health technology, agriculture and rural development, smart vehicles, robotics and drones, transportation and logistics, smart education, clean and green technology, blockchain and cybersecurity, renewable and sustainable energy, disaster management, toys, space technology, fintech and other areas.
Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy, in his presidential remarks, said the hackathon aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among students through workshops, conferences and interaction with entrepreneurs.
The management representatives congratulated the CSE department and encouraged students to participate in the hackathon and work on solutions to real-world problems.
Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Former Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of KITS Warangal, Treasurer P. Narayana Reddy, Vodithala Satish Kumar and Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy extended their greetings to the department.
Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Dr. K. Raja Narender Reddy, Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Dr. N.C. Santosh Kumar, Dr. R. Rajesh, CSE Association President T. Vishwath Narayana, Associate Professor and PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, along with CSE faculty and staff, attended the programme.
