Grand Celebration of 78th Independence Day at KITS Warangal


The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS), Warangal on August 15, 2024. The event, held at the KITSW campus, was marked by a flag hoisting ceremony at 8:00 am, led by Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy.



In his address, Principal Prof. Ashoka Reddy discussed the significance of India's independence and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. He emphasized the role of historical knowledge in shaping the development of the nation and introduced the competencies-based curriculum for the 2024-25 academic year. This new curriculum aims to enhance employability skills and prepare students as industry-ready engineers.




Prof. Reddy also highlighted the upcoming Ruby Year alumni reunion, which will honor the 1984 graduates, the first batch from KITS Warangal. He encouraged students to focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, aiming to become job creators rather than job seekers.



The celebration featured various activities organized by the Student Activity Center (SAC), including competitions in elocution, essay writing, poster designing, poetry, debate, fine arts, singing, and dance. Prizes were awarded to the winners, and the event fostered a strong sense of patriotism among attendees.


The program included a parade by NCC cadets and concluded with patriotic songs, dances, and poems. Key attendees included Registrar Prof. M. Komal Reddy, Administrative Officer Prof. P. Ramesh Reddy, NCC Officer Capt. Dr. M. Ranadheer Kumar, Head of Physical Education Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy, and other faculty members. The event was a success, thanks to the participation of students and staff from across the institute.
