The fourth day of public hearings of Telangana BC Commission were held today at Karimnagar in Collectorate's meeting hall from 10 AM to 6:30 PM.

About 1200 people participated in this. Individuals, various caste associations and political leaders submitted their applications.

A total of 213 representations and suggestions were submitted to the Commission in the form of affidavit. Main content of the representations are that, the reservations should be provided to BCs in the local body elections according to groups A, B, C, D, E and overall reservations should be provided to BCs in proportion to their population. As some castes do not have political representation, they sought to be given an opportunity. Along with reservations in local bodies, representatives of various caste associations brought their problems and backwardness to the attention of the Commission.



In today's public hearing, BC Commission Chairman Shri G Niranjan, Members Rapolu Jayaprakash, Tirumalagiri Surender, Balalaxmi Rangu, Special Officer Shri G Satish Kumar along with Karimnagar District Collector, Mrs. Pamela Satpathy, Additional Collector, Shri Praful Desai, RDO, Karimnagar Maheshwar, District BC Welfare Officer, Anil Prakash, Peddapally District Collector Mr. Koya Harsha,

Collector of Jagityal, Mr. B. Satya Prasad and other officers participated.

After the public hearing, BC Commission Chairman Shri G Niranjan informed the details of today's public hearing in a media conference. When it was brought to the attention of the Commission that some people are trying to provide wrong information with respect to their caste, the chairman replied that the name and signature of the enumerator, supervisor and family head should be on each questionnaire and that the Commission would recommend to the government to take strict action against anyone who deliberately gives false information. It has been informed that those who desire to submit their requests can do so directly in the office of the Commission in person or by post.

Commission appreciated the Karimnagar District Collector, Additional Collector and District BC Welfare Officer and staff for successfully conducting the program.

After this program the BC Commission left for Warangal. A public hearing will be held in Hanmakonda district collector's office on Saturday.
