1. Shift in Cricket Culture and Values: Indian cricket has moved from a culture of balance, sportsmanship, and tradition to one perceived as aggressive and commercially-driven. The entry of influential figures like Jay Shah in the BCCI, seen by some as nepotistic, has intensified these changes.
2. Impact of IPL and Calendar Overload: While the IPL has groomed young talent, its lengthy format and overemphasis on T20 are seen as eroding the quality and focus on Test cricket. Reducing the IPL’s length and emphasizing a balance between formats could help uphold Test cricket’s legacy.
3.Need for Regional Talent and Neutral Pitches: Regional outreach, which once produced exceptional players like Zaheer Khan, is being overlooked. Additionally, pitch conditions favoring spin rather than balanced competition are drawing criticism worldwide. This raises concerns that India's emphasis on fast, commercial success could harm the global health of cricket, especially Test matches.
Crippling lesion in the spine of cricket
I am very disgruntled and dissapointed as you are my friends with 3-0 whitewash to the Indian test cricket team at home.
Millions of reels and trolling are being served to the players, coach and the selection committee yes there must be criticism strongly agree.
Now I would want your attention to a deeper problem, a growing lesion in the spine of test cricket . Once the middle class cricket ambassador's of India are now perceptualised as bullies. Who are now being questioned by followers who have faith in the traditional underwrritten culture of cricket from the past. The largest cricket family, the Indian fans, that i knew before, always believed in protection, balance and not in power.
In 2015 Jayesh Shah entered BCCI with an unchallengeable qualification of nepotism. Kindly leave aside your political affliation and think deeply about the changes in model and calendar of cricket .
I am very much in support of IPL for its advantages in grooming the young but, there lies a defect in the length; can't the teams play each other once ? Just as you are bringing the ropes inside to make the sixes look big, can't you not accommodate red over white with the length of the tournament shrunk? When there are enormous reels on insta preaching about just 3 meals a day and early dinner for good health is the wealth not enough unless you are Soham shah from Tumbad driven by greed.
The law of nature is that earth revolves round the sun in the same manner BCCI should revolve around ICC right?
Outreach in regional areas is significant to find the likes of Zaheer Khan for example. Why are we unable to find left arm seamers who can bring the ball back in the air and dismantle the top order of the opposition and win test matches?
Why all roads from the finals of a WC are going to Gujarat and the colour of the pitch changes as every night passes?
I feel ashamed when overseas cricket followers call Indian pitches dust bowls but is it not right that they have been more rank turners than runs and wickets.
Now there is a massive threat to cricket lovers specially for the red family thanks to Jay Shah scension ICC where he will commence his tenure on December 1, 2024.
So the disease will now spread across the cricket playing globe, once threatened in the form of Kerry Packer when there were the great Boycotts and the Gavaskars opposing it. Even the great Vivian Richards once said he would want to go back in time and erase that chapter by the Packer.
So do we have the forces to create the vaccines to stop the pandemic called Shah- vid to protect our love "TEST CRICKET"
Any uncle from my neighbourhood in the 90's of india who worked in a bank per say can be a better administrator as they would understand the value of a word called " PRESERVE"
Now if you have dums in your bums ( this is the begumpet HPS kid in me ) reflect ,regather and "REFORM".
