K. Sreenivas Reddy, Chairman, Media Academy of Telangana  along with     Dr. S. Harish, Commissioner, Information and Public Relations Department, has submitted a report for the issue of Media Accreditations to Telangana Working Journalists to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations Department today (02-01-2025) at Secretariat.  The Government has constituted a Special Committee under the Chairmanship of                 Sreenivas Reddy to review and formulate fresh Guidelines to issue Media Accreditations to Telangana Working Journalists of State head-quarters, district and Mandal and Dr. S. Harish is the Member-convener of the Special Committee. The minister has instructed the Ex-officio Special Secretary to Government (I&PR) Dept. to initiate the process to issue necessary orders.

The Special Committee constituted vide G.O.Rt.No.1395 G.A. (I&PR) Dept. dated 18-10-2024, held six meetings in 45 days and has extensively reviewed the Telangana Media Accreditation Rules, along with other members of the Committee  K. Srinivas, Senior Journalist and former editor of Andhra Jyothi,  Amer Ali Khan, MLC & News editor of Siasat urdu daily,  Ankam Ravi, CEO, V6 channel, R. Ravikanth Reddy, Political Editor, The Hindu, English daily and Nara Hari, Senior Photographer, Nava Telangana telugu daily. 

It may be recalled that earlier guidelines formulated in 2016 vide G.O.Ms.No.239 G.O.(I&PR) Dept. dated 15-07-2016, were struck down by the Hon’ble High Court in two counts.
