*TeamOne from KITS Warangal Wins Global “People’s Choice Award” at NASA Space Apps Challenge*

In a remarkable achievement, "TeamOne," a group of students from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITSW) has brought international recognition to their institution by winning the prestigious “People’s Choice Award” at the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2024 said by the Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy. Competing against global nominees, the team emerged as one of the top eight winners worldwide, showcasing their innovative solution to a challenging problem statement related to the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).

The NASA  International  Space Apps Challenge, renowned for fostering creativity and technological excellence, witnessed participation from teams across the globe. TeamOne stood out for their AI-powered platform that transforms JWST data into personalized multimedia stories. Their solution enables users to generate videos featuring real JWST images, AI visuals, multilingual narration, and music, making space exploration engaging and accessible to audiences of all ages.

The team comprised four talented students from KITS Warangal:

Eesha Belladi (B22IN078)

Vallem Haricharan (B22IN106)

Ande Hasini (B22IN022)

 According to the Head of C-i2RE, Dr K. Rajanarendar Reddy, This achievement is particularly significant as TeamOne is one of only two Indian teams among the eight selected teams worldwide to receive the award this year, making it a proud moment for the entire country.

TeamOne’s accomplishment not only brings pride to KITS Warangal but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of innovators to dream big and reach for the stars.

In this regard Management Members, Captain V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer, P. Narayana Reddy,  Husnabad constituency former  MLA, V. Sathish Kumar, Principal Prof. K. Ashoka Reddy have appreciated and congratulated the selected students for their latest innovation.  

In this event Head of Computer Science and Engineering - Networks (CSN) , Dr V Shankar Professor , Head of C-i2RE, Dr K. Rajanarendar Reddy, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Dhruti S.Das , Rakesh Kumar Sahu all the Heads, all the deans, Associate professor of chemistry &  PRO Dr. D. Prabhakara Chary, all the student representatives were present.
